Patty!

Patty Griffin is finally coming to Portand!! Yeah!! June 19 at the south portland high school auditorium. I’m so psyched. We were at borders and J saw the poster… then I got home and bought them, checked my email and sam had sent me an email about it. It must have just been booked. Patty is so great live.

Anyway, I felt like a big mushy ugly blob today so I did what any self respecting woman would do. I went on a shopping spree. Which was really not a good thing since I’m thisclose to paying off my credit card bill. Oh well… I only spent a couple three hundred dollars and I do feel better now. Went to macy’s and bought an adorable white, flouncy shirt dress that came with a hippie belt (which means I don’t have to spend money on one of those now…see, thrifty!), a taupe cardigan - kind of boring, but versatile, and a sleeveless black vneck - also sort of boring, but versatile. Then I went to borders and bought Kathy Smith’s “Lift weights and lose weight”, one called, “poemcrazy: freeing your life with words” and “story structure architect: a writer’s guide to building dramatic situations and compelling characters.” Happy girl!

But wait, I”m not done. Then we went to Target so J could buy my birthday present. I picked out these reebok dumbells that have adjustable weights on them (hence the kathy smith book). Then they had these adorable cable knit short sleeve sweaters so I bought three of them… peach, yellow, and navy blue. Only $17 each and I kind of like them better than the expensive stuff I got at Macy’s. I’ve actually found a lot of cute, very affordable things at Target. And some shampoo. That’s all.

It was very hot today. Went for a walk at lunch time in my frumpy all black outfit. work was a total drag. the day lasted forever. Went to macaroni grill for dinner. Had sangria which I’m now adding to my list of drinks I don’t like. Focusing on getting in shape starting tomorrow. As life has now taught me, you never know what’s going to happen, so it would be better to look good. Duly noted.

3 days off!!! Yipppeeee!
